I planted 6 6-packs of seeds today!!! My planting 2011 garden season has officially begun!
1 6-pk leeks
1 6-pk onions (Ailsa Craig)
1 6-pk onions (Frontier)
1 6-pk lettuce mix
1 6-pk endive mix
half 6-pk perennial purple broccoli
half 6-pk celeriac
I had written my plant labels a couple days ago, but didn’t end up planting, so I changed all the 1-25’s to 1-28. Nice to know they are now starting to come to life.

How very exciting! I've also started my seeds. I love watching them grow!
Hooray! Very exciting. I can't wait to start ours!!
Really enjoy your blog! I love starting seeds too!
I love starting seeds too. It means the warmth of spring and the joy of freshly grown produce is just around the corner. We are starting our seeds this weekend as well.
Doesn't it feel great! I planted a 128 cell tray day before yesterday and I have seedlings popping up already! I could not believe it…those babies just want to grow!
Jealous! I need to get mine started in the next few days. Probably will happen on Tuesday since I have the day off…
Starting mine today!! All I need are some labeling stakes.
If you are starting seeds now will you need to transplant a few times before they can go outside?
Looking forward to following you through your 2011 garden season!!
I am very jealous. We have been having very warm weather here in Western Washington and was thinking about stsrting early this year (like 3 month early). But then this morning was freezing and I am going to wait it out. Did I mention I was jealous. 🙂 Congrats on the start of a new year.
Kathy — What do you plan to do with the lettuce and endive? Will you transplant outside?
Kathy.. Your spinach in the coldframe looked terrific! I started a bunch of stuff here last week and then again over the weekend and already have germination on fennel, broccoli, cabbage and lots of lettuces. When will you move your new little sprouts to the coldframe?
