I made out very well with Santa this year.
I got chickens for Christmas! A pretty hen and a big rooster. A variety that’s very easy to care for. But not so good at laying. They are antique iron ornaments. I’ll let them out in the backyard in the summer and inside in the winter. Skippy posed with them.
I also got a new weed whacker of my own. (I have been using the Community Gardens’). It has a rototiller attachment and a heavy duty brush cutter. I’m definitely looking forward to using this!
What gardening gifts did you get?

Lovely chickens! And dog. Christmas is always a good time for the gardener. This year I got a handful of helpful books and a silly garden gnome!
I had to laugh, because the words appeared before your photo did, but I didn't get as far as when you said what they were made of. Well, they are good looking chickens, and Skippy looks like he enjoys posing next to them.
I got the one gardening gift I asked for… "What's Wrong With My Plants? (And How Do I Fix It?)" It's the one holiday gift I hope I never have to use! 🙂
Interestingly, I didn't get any gardening gifts for Christmas. lol
Nice blog with nice picture. the picture on your blog interest me to go through through your blog and finally I enjoyed it.
I love gnomes and garden books. But I guess its the wrong time of year to give gardening gifts.
I received a very much needed gardening "tool" – a new pr of Bogs boots! I love 'em!
I got a mini greenhouse that I can start my seeds in. It comes with a heat mat for seeds that need higher temps. for germination. Can't wait.
My gift was getting my garden back. We moved back into our house after a 10+ month remodel. The veggie garden has new raised beds, I have new pots (gardenia, verbena, sage, mint, fern) near the back door, and the scene is set for a spring of renewal. Happy New Year, Kathy, to you and all yours. (I had my first cucumber martini on Stella's birthday two nights ago and thought of you!)
P.S. I gave Alice a garden gift… ask her!
Sounds great Jen! Happy New Year.
