Marie from Boxford here. As always I look to you for the standard in backyard gardening, so am curiously relieved to see you have some of the same problems I do. A lot of my lettuce is bolting. Several tomato plants doing poorly due to the constant rain. I have a few green tomatoes and a few peppers forming. Peas and beans looking reluctant to flower in this weather.
On the plus side, after thinking so hard about those lovely buff orpingtons down my road (with the oreo cows) I finally had a proper coop built and have a flock of 8 pullets who started laying a few weeks ago, and 22 healthy 3 week old chicks who should move into the coop next week if all goes well. They eat my grass clippings, lay eggs, and make fertilizer. Nothing better!
Awesome job. I am about to start my very first vegetable garden and I am so excited. I am learning so much for reading and enjoying your blog. Thanks for taking the time to post your progress and experiences.
