Our garden birds. We used to get more types, but now its pretty much just sparrows. I suppose its because I don’t feed them anymore.

Here’s my vegetable garden today. That’s Skippy supervising back by the gate.
more planting in a wet garden
I planted three 6-packs of basil and another package of peas (snow peas). It’s still very rainy and wet here.
my tomatoes are planted
The tomatoes are in the ground. 16 plants: 6 early girl, 6 supersonic, 2 red brandywine and 2 yellow brandywine. The ground still seems cold, but sun and warmer weather are forecast. I planted 6 eggplants in with the flowers in the border against the house, hoping they will stay warmer there.
hydroponic gardening?
It’s raining again and is so wet that I am thinking this is like hydroponic gardening.
finally some sun on my garden
Finally some sun in the Northeast! Still soggy, but the lettuce seedlings are coming up, the blueberries are blooming and Skippy can go out and play. Yippy!!
everything is soggy
It’s still raining …. They say it’s the wettest weather we’ve had in 70 years. 12-17 inches of rain in the last three days. Everything is soggy.
This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy thinks the garden is his, even though I do all the work. We're located near Boston, in USDA zone 6. I have bees, chickens, fruit trees and berry bushes, too. I use all sustainable organic methods and strive to grow all of my family's vegetables myself. -Kathy
