I notice you have ‘Marathon’ is that Broccoli Marathon, I have been thinking about getting that and one also ‘Tender Stem’ which John and I enjoy; it is very expensive in the Supermarket. Your Hollyhocks look good, only 3 of the 10 seeds I sowed came up. You obviously have magic green fingers. Marian
Marian, Yes, Marathon is broccoli. A new variety I’m trying this year. Also Blue Wind. And the ones I grew last year Green Sprouting Calabrese and another I forget the name of.
I got 8 hollyhocks from 12 seeds planted. Maybe yours will come up yet. I was surprised by 2 little eggplants that came up three weeks after planting many seeds. Better than none – I had given up.
Safira, Today will be 60*F!!! Awesome. I’ll be in the garden a bit. (Don’t tell my boss….)
I am envious of your basil seedlings – mine are JUST now starting to peek through. Since this is my first veggie garden and I am flying by the seat of my pants, it’s good to know that you too have issues with eggplant – I may have to resort to buying some from our local greenhouse – better than not having any at all, eh?
Great seedlings ! I must remember to label mine next year. The tomatoes and peppers are finally going, the broccoli has been growing and one of the cantalope seeds finally sprouted. Gonna move some to bigger containers today. Keep up whatever you are doing. I am alos waiting for warm weather, last nite was below freezing.:(
Kathy, your seedlings so rock! They look a hell of a lot better than mine!! I hope my plantings are not a dismal failure this year as they (I was) were last year. This weekend I'm going to start my Sugar Baby Watermelon, Alaska & Hale's Best melons, and 3 kinds of cukes; Straight 8, Pearl and Cool Breeze. The turnip, radish, peas and carrots still need to go into the ground, HOPEFULLY, next Friday. All of these rainy days have set me back some.

Your seedlings look great. Mine aren’t bad, but not as sturdy-looking as yours.

Barely any of my basil seedlings germinated, and the ones that did all died soon after. But maybe I’ll try again! Yours certainly do look lovely.
