another pear tree transplanted

Well, we were able to transplant my second pear tree to my community plot today. This is a big Bartlett (or Williams) pear tree with a nice lateral espaliered pattern. I hope it survives the transplant. It is about 6 feet tall – I will make an extra support above my 5 foot fence for its top branches.

  • Any chance you would post pictures of your pear tree? I’d like to see how it’s pruned. I bought a peach tree that’s still in the nursery container that I want to espalier and a real life example would really be great.

  • I’ll post photos soon – BUT – I don’t think these as examples of how-to do beautiful espalier. I suppose its useful to see them though even if they give you ideas of what not to do.
