Finally a yellow summer squash!! Sunday evening I picked my first one. I sliced it in 3/4 inch slabs, brushed with herbs in olive oil(rosemary, parsley and garlic), let it sit awhile, then grilled and ate it.
Your squash looked wonderful, I only had about 3 squash total from 4 plants!!! I made this dish that my mom use to make with squash, corn, tomato sauce, and cheese! it is soo good, your look like yellow crooknecks, are they?
I love grilled squash and have never grown my own. Will do so this year. You know what is incredibly beneficial about reading this blog? I know when the food is ready to harvest! You make this so exciting. I have been reading about vegetable gardening the way a mad fool writes a thesis due in two weeks and it is DAUNTING! But you make the goal seem attainable.
