Belmont Victory Garden Seed Swap and Harvest Celebration

Terrible weather is predicted for tomorrow. Windy, thunder, lots of rain. 🙁

The Belmont Victory Garden Seed Swap and Harvest Celebration (scheduled for 2-4 tomorrow) will play it by ear. We prefer to go on as scheduled. We will hope for a miraculous 2 hours clearing. If this doesn’t happen, we will post a sign at the garden and try again on Sunday.

Please stay home if there’s thunder/lightening. If it’s just raining, wear your best rain gear (and it’ll be like a fashion show!). We have a big canopy.

Rain has been the theme this year. What’s one more day of wet! Soon it will be snowflakes.

  • Planning to stop in on my way back from Gloucester. Hoping for a dry window for you. Bringing some rasp divisions and some corn and bean seeds.

  • Great.

I found another canopy. I'm thinking we may set up right in front close to the parking lot to minimize walking in the rain. Its our newly reclaimed grass that's will quite weedy and uneven. We generally do events in the center of the gardens on a nice flat area. In any case, you'll easily spot us, wherever we are.

  • I have a few plants of Amelia's cayenne and some seeds from Shunguang's Chinese pole beans to share.

I haven't picked my big pumpkins yet. I'll wait til the last minute. I have two orange one ~15 lbs each (maybe more?) and two pretty gray Jarrahdale that are ~10 lbs each. 1st prize for the giant vegetable contest is a seed tray and heated mat – I'd like to win this myself! There is a little 2nd prize too.
